This is a place for you to find encouragement to develop as a lead guitar player. I hope, as you read through posts or check out resources, that it inspires purpose and creativity for you to find your voice in the unique beauty you bring to to the world. I want to always grow, and I want to invite you to join me in doing the same.
I’m a lead guitar player. I’ve been playing guitar since I was somewhere around eight or ten years old, but I really started taking thing seriously in high school when a band I was in started playing more. Since that time, I’ve enjoyed playing in bands and in church worship settings. I have a warm, melodic, linear approach to playing and believe in the importance of theory and ear training as you approach music.
I hope to focus on positions, theory, and aural skills to develop your style with a high value on hearing and creating over recreating what others are playing, although mimicking and learning songs and licks have definite value for any developing guitarist.
This site won’t be the only source for you, but rather, I hope, a different approach to augment your style and knowledge, making you a better, well-rounded lead guitar player.
Courses are set out in packages like choosing to attend a class in school. You’ll find a detailed description in each, and I’d love to hear feedback and your improvement along the way.
I hope to hear from you if any of these tools is valuable to you.
Most importantly though, let’s get out there and create!
